摘要

In a 2 X 3 factorial experiment 16 sows and their young had no addition to their sow, creep and starting diets or had the feed flavour Firanor No. 24 added at 50 mg/kg diet. The sows and young were studied to 31 days after weaning which was at a mean age of 26.9 days. The feed flavour was incorporated in the sow's milk at 9 mg/litre. Feed flavour in the creep diet did not increase feed intake or weight at weaning; mean daily intake of creep feed and daily gain before weaning were 47.8 and 207 g, respectively. After weaning, young of sows given the flavour and then given the flavoured starting diet tended to gain faster than those given the unflavoured starter or those weaned from sows given no flavour
